Sr Business Development Manager

Ethan spearheads Cogniphi’s Business Development activities in Australia. His responsibilities include client acquisition, account management of our existing clients, project management of client onboarding, growth and solution development, regional and territory growth as well as growing the Cogniphi brand in Australia. Ethan involves himself in every aspect of the customer journey including sales demonstrations, brainstorming solutions, supporting the solution development process, and is fully dedicated to ensuring client success and satisfaction. Prior to joining Cogniphi, he was handling National accounts at Bioderma and L’Oréal.

What is a typical day in your role?

One of the best things about working at Cogniphi, is that there is no “typical” day. Every day is different.

I’m the Senior Business Development Manager, based in Australia, and my functions include developing and executing our go to market strategy and meeting with businesses across many different industries and countries around the world to learn more about their challenges and then develop and execute a solution to solve those challenges with the unbelievable technology that Cogniphi has developed. My workday typically includes sales calls, where I jump on a zoom call with a client and their team members to learn about their challenges and demonstrate how we can solve those challenges. I also need to project manage the execution of our solution with our existing clients to make sure our solution consistently meets their needs and expectations. One of the best things about Cogniphi, is that, from a client’s perspective, the same person who “sells” you the dream, is the same person who is responsible for ensuring that dream becomes reality. It gives me great pride to see a client go from a sceptical lead to an enthusiastic partner.

What is it that you enjoy most about your work?

I’m very lucky. I get to spend a lot of my time inspiring people and businesses with the unbelievable technology that Cogniphi has developed. I get so excited when I can show someone how our AI Vision platform can detect an OH&S safety hazard and then send an alert to staff to ensure no-one gets hurt, or how it detects if products are out of stock on shelf, or how it creates a heatmap of movement throughout a retail store or warehouse to help management optimise formats and layouts. It’s also amazing to get to work every day, solving problems that businesses and industries never thought they could solve. We are doing some fantastic (and confidential) work in some industries that will revolutionise the way those industries will operate and it is highly inspiring to be at the forefront of this technology, every day.

What is unique about the culture at Cogniphi?

I am amazed constantly at how hard everyone in my team works and how bright everyone is. I’ve learnt more from the people around me in the last 1 year than I have in the last 5 years. The culture at Cogniphi has nurtured my skills in presenting, sales, negotiating, strategic planning, project management, leadership and personal time management. Something unique and special about the culture at Cogniphi is that we are all equally passionate and excited about how ground-breaking and advanced our technology is. You can feel the energy in our meetings, in the sacrifices all of our team members make when dealing with clients across the world for travel and time zone differences and the fact that everyone is working towards the same goal of making Cogniphi the premier AI Vision Technology Company in the world. I have no doubt we will get there over the next few years.
